Dr. Danger Band

In their 11th year performing together, Dr. Danger continues a soulful blues based rock tradition going back to its roots in Chicago blues and forward to the sound of the Bay Area in the 60s and 70s; fluent in the blues, ballads, honky-tonk, doo-wop, psychedelia and more, a typical show will feature a healthy mix of favorites from Canned Heat to Deep Purple, from Merle Haggard to Bill Withers to the Rayettes to the Grateful Dead as well as plenty of original material along the way. The band celebrated the official CD release of their first self-titled disc in 2011 and released their follow up “Second Opinion” in 2014.

Dr. Danger is a 2 time SLO New Times Music Award winner; in 2011 for Brad Kyle’s original composition “Every Night Blues” (Best Blues/R&B Recording) and in 2012 for the Kyle/Lucille composition “Betta Treat Me Right”.  Both songs are featured on “Second Opinion”.

Past and current haunts have been ManRock Brewing Company and Fin’s Restaurant in Grover Beach, The Slo Down Pub In Arroyo Grande, Mongo’s Saloon, F Mclintocks in Arroyo Grande, and the Paradise Store at Lake Cachuma CA (Santa Barbara), as well as opening slots for the SLO Blues Society and SLO Brewing Co.
